| Extra-reinforced, specially made agitation collars in double leather. If a harness is not used, then it is important to use a strong, wide collar that distributes the pressure. Stainless neck chains (the only chains that hold reliably) give too much pressure and are rough on the dog. These agitation collars withstand a vigorous dog. The collar must hold to stop the dog getting loose, perhaps at a time when the helper is not wearing a protective sleeve. The most considerate way of working with the dog is to do protection work in a harness. The dog can work fully without unevenly distributed pressure on the throat, back and neck vertebrae. The dog is not strained, and there is better control during learning. Far too many service dogs retire prematurely because of damaged backs. Strong leather collar. | Pinch collars are used mainly by professionals and are forbidden in the Swedish Working Dog Club's and the Swedish Board of Agriculture's rules that set standards for keeping dogs. A private person has little need for a pinch collar. A pinch collar should fit tightly. It must not move round the neck. The angled spines should point upwards on the left side. The pinch collar is used mainly to give the dog a slight pain to activate the dog. A slight impetus, such as a pull on the coat, gets an uninterested trainee protection dog going against the helper. The same treatment can activate a dog in various situations, e.g. obedience training with big distractions. The pinch collar is used not for punishment in these situations, but for increasing drive. The most usual use for pinch collars is in guarding in protection work. When the dog follows his master with his eyes, the helper pulls very slightly - such as a tug on the coat - on a short lead without a handle that is clipped to the pinch collar, and the dog becomes angry at the helper and stops looking away during guarding. The pinch collar can sometimes be needed for hard service dogs that ignore ordinary choke chains. With these types of dogs the pinch collar can be needed during short obedience sessions. |
| Service dogs that refuse to release might need pinch collars clipped to a line handled by a skilled third person so the dog does not associate the discomfort with the helper or handler. There are some service dogs so hard that not even pinch collars help. Dogs with such dispositions can be taught to guard and release the prey before the dog's defence/tolerance to hitting becomes too great. Pinch collars are sometimes used in turn-on/turn-off exercises with a vigorous protection dog that wants to attack the helper as soon as he shows himself. A keen protection dog behaves like this if it has not had the benefit of being calm (turned-off) before it is allowed to get going. The dog is commanded to lie down/be quiet and gets a jerk on the pinch collar if he disobeys. When the dog is lying quietly, and paying attention, the helper pulls the dog into action and it is at last allowed to bite. When the discomfort is followed by being active it can be quite important for a good helper to get the dog going so the discomfort is forgotten immediately. |

| The best chain collar you can buy. The lifetime chain is manufactured in the highest quality possible - stainless acid-resistant steel. The links have the right proportions for chain collars for easy running, and rubbing away the coat as little as possible, and can be altered to non-choke. The chain is available in two link sizes: 22 mm long/2.2 mm thick and 32 mm long/3 mm thick. Each link is TIG-welded by hand. Each chain withstands over 700 kg pull. That is five times more than the most common chain collars and more than two of the best stainless steel German chains (3 mm product) withstand together. | ELBOLITE light storing collar - a luminous worldwide innovation from Dog Security - patent pending no. 9500098-0. A battery-free luminous collar. Protects the dog in traffic. If a hunting dog gets caught in undergrowth the snap fasteners release when he tries to free himself. Made in strong plastic-coated fabric with a felt backing. Each collar is adjustable to three fixed lengths, of which the two shortest are fastened with two snap fasteners, and the longest with only one. The smallest size can also be used as a cat collar. ELBOLITE is recharged in ten minutes in daylight, fluorescent lighting or ordinary lighting and then glows for about 1/2 hour. It can also be recharged with car headlights or spotlights. After half an hour the intensity reduces to one-quarter. This glow is visible for 3-4 hours in total darkness. It is not visible in ordinary "city" darkness. ELBOLITE is fitted with red super reflectors. These reflect the faintest glimmer of light, which further enhances visibility. | HINTS AND TIPS FOR DARKNESS TRAINING
Training in darkness with an ELBOLITE luminous collar often gives quicker and better progress and is a "brilliant" complement to conventional methods. Clearly more fun training that can be varied endlessly, limited only by the handler's imagination. Even an inexperienced handler can achieve "glowing" results. OBEDIENCE TRAINING IN DARKNESS
Clearly better contact is obtained with the dog, and progress in most free heeling procedures is quicker because the dog cannot see any corrections. In all types of remote commands you can see perfectly for yourself whether any extra sharp commands are needed, e.g. in the recall with stay and lie. FIELD WORK WHEN SIGHT IS OBSCURED BY DARKNESS
With ELBOLITE the handler can progress with all types of work training. There is no need to drive miles every time to find suitable terrain. The training field by the clubhouse or a large open field work perfectly for darkness training with guard dogs and tracker dogs. And imagine the advantage in being able to follow the search dog's work and see whether it really follows the handler's command and goes forward, right, etc., or digs for a rabbit or lies down for a rest because it thinks it is out of sight. Tracker and search dogs clearly work more effectively when they are not disturbed by distracting visual impressions. This gives quicker and surer learning. Also, the handler develops because he has to rely completely on his tracker dog in the dark.
