Expanding tie-out line

An expanding tie-out line must never break. If an expanding tie-out line comes off it will hit the dog with great force and injure it or others nearby. So our expanding tie-out line is plaited with the ends a long way from the snaps, giving double security. Each line is both stitched and glued at the ends. The lines have approximately the same amount of stretch. The expanding tie-out line is used to improve the bite and to obtain more power in the attack. The dog wears an agitation harness during all training with the expanding tie-out line.

Correctly used, the expanding tie-out line gives great improvements. The expanding tie-out line need only be used when the bite or attack needs to be improved. When the dog has missed the helper (who has marked out where he will go) a few times on the expanding tie-out line, he usually becomes more vigorous so that the next bite really hits. Sometimes a couple of successes like this are sufficient for the dog to acquire a powerful attack.

Bite improvement training usually takes a period of 2-5 weeks with the tie-out line attached to a post. The helper agitates the dog at prey intensely. Standing right back at the post the handler lets go of the dog (the attack is stimulated at the same time) in the direction of the handler who flees backwards to his mark (1 m from the limit of stretch), where he takes the bite. Then the helper walks in the direction of the dog so that the expander slackens and the dog is allowed to win the sleeve. The dog can also begin working outside in the expander. Different helpers work in different ways. When the dog is allowed to win the arm the expander must be slack otherwise the dog bounces back. With experience of using an expander, and a reliable dog that does not let go, the handler himself can hold the expander and slacken the line before the sleeve is won. Usually the dog stops biting anyhow in expander training, the bites get harder and all anxiety disappears from the bite. You must never strike the dog (because aggression is not wanted) during expander training. Muzzle hits are improved with a little expander resistance

lines for protection training

This agitation line satisfies the two greatest demands: 100%: proper jerk compensation and a fast and easy to operate quick-release hook. This 10 mm super-strong agitation line is fitted with a Forsheda no. 1 rubber compensator (able to cope with boats of several tonnes). When the dog is tied up on the line and agitated, the helper can work with perfect precision, controlling the agitation and sleeve presentation optimally. A very vigorous dog will make very forceful jerks that must be compensated so that no over-loading occurs. An ordinary line, or a line with a steel spring, is not sufficient in this case.

An agitation harness must be used with consideration to the large forces that would otherwise strain the dog's neck and throat. When the dog is let off in the bite, a good and reliable quick-release hook is required so it takes place quickly and easily. This agitation line has the best quick-release hook of the correct size.

The working line, which is 7 m long, is typical Danish ingenuity. Training with the working line and harness is carried out remotely. The dog is supported through the line but is allowed to work independently. This is a powerful reinforcement for the dog's confidence, while the dog can be controlled to a certain extent. Made from 10 mm thick plaited material for the best grip - the same strong material as the agitation line.

DS trackingline in solid plastic

With this line you can track without gloves! The tracking line does not get caught in the undergrowth, is easy to lay out and works equally well when cold (contains anti-freezing agent). The best tracking line for the countryside. Made in solid 7 mm special plastic, the same type as is used for fan belts. Fitted with a BGB snaplink and clasped with a stainless ring clamp. Length 15 metres for trials in the swedish beginners competition class (10 metres out) and higher classes (where the length is needed for the pick-up).

For training there is a 7 metre training line. Master trackers usually have short lines for tracking work and train with short lines to avoid getting a dog that swings wide over the trail. The training line makes this training simpler.

Since July 1996 the line has had a core of polypropylene line for greater strength and rigidity so it can also be used for police dogs without the risk of their stretching the line when they reach the quarry.

Orange polyethene tracking line

This is an improved version of the orange "Swedish Working Dog Club line". It is a cable-laid line in polyethene. The line is double-thickness at 10 metres so you know when 10 metres have been let out. The last metre is also double-thickness, so it is easier to hold and you can tell when you are nearly at the end of the line.

Tracking line

Tracking line in 8 mm loose flat-plaited Cerfilon. The line is "loose-limbed" and can be gathered in the hand and put in the pocket. The line takes up little room and weighs hardly anything. Intended mainly for service tracking when the car has to be left a long way from the scene of the crime, e.g. at break-ins or where a car thief has abandoned the car. If it turns out that the perpetrator has fled and it is urgent, then you clip the tracking line non-choke or to a harness, and start tracking immediately..

The emergency tracking line is available in 3 lengths, 7, 10 and 15 metres.
