Elastic arm protectors (arm-cuffs) |
| Elastic arm protectors that protect the forearm and 15 cm of the upper arm. Made in approx. 2 cm thick protective sleeve felt sewn into an elastic bandage. Gives very good protection under a protective sleeve, hidden protective sleeve or bite jacket. These protectors distribute and relieve the pressure and also protect against the teeth. Can be worn under clothing for security in sensitive situations, e.g. delivering and collecting guard dogs. Completely realistic exercises for the dog in a real environment can be carried out with these arm protectors and a nylcot bite jacket. There is no smell of jute from the protective sleeve, and the bite feels real to the dog. The helper has full mobility and hardly notices the arm protection. Sold in pairs because left and right are different. |
Upper arm and leg protector Used as protection for the shin in a bite suit or as upper arm protection under a protective sleeve. The elastic arm protector protects all round the forearm and half-way up the upper arm. They cannot protect higher up because they would reduce the helper's mobility. This upper arm protector protects only the outside of the arm because there cannot be a protector so high up on the inside. |

Quality bite suit in nylcot |
| Nylcot is 70% cotton and 30% nylon, and very hard-wearing. The material has been developed because nylon damages the dogs' teeth and sometimes also the gums. This nylcot fabric is specially woven so the teeth penetrate and the fabric self-heals afterwards. This fabric is only available in our suits. The suits are intended for bites. Both trouser and jacket are over-sized so you can get out of the bite while the dog bites into the thick fabric. For the best mobility the trousers and jacket are made from two pairs of trousers and jackets, one inside the other. They are sewn together at strategic places such as the waist, neck and at the hands. This is a more expensive method but gives much higher quality. It gives a much more flexible suit than by making one thick suit, and it is also easier to take the bites. These are the best bite suits we have found on the market. The suits are available in two thicknesses, thin and thick. The thin suit is used in France in the Ring protection trials. Taking bites in the thin suit hurts. With a hard biting service dog you can really feel it and you get bruises. The thick style is used for training and withstands substantial bites. It is not unusual to combine thick trousers with a thin jacket. With service dogs the jacket can also be used for realistic tests. With the thin jacket over an elastic arm protector even very hard bites can be taken occasionally. |
The jacket looks civilian and does not smell of jute. If the test is set up in the service dog's ordinary working environment with a different helper from normal, so that it is not prepared for protection work, and the dog bites when he should, you can be confident he will work when necessary. The suits are available in four sizes, S/M/L/XL, with delivery in 4-8 weeks. We recommend that you also send the helper's measurements. Suits are made up to order, and orders cannot be cancelled. |

Bite jacket |
Standard quality bite jacket from Holland in nylcot. This is a very economical jacket often used in service dog training. The sleeves are provided with a cover that can be replaced after a few years. As with all bite jackets, sleeve cuffs are needed underneath, because hard biting dogs bite through even this thick jacket. Available in various civilian colours. Please ask for current stock information. |

Tjin bite clothing |
| Bite jacket and protective trousers in self-healing nylcot. Looks like ordinary clothing. Lightly padded. Can be used for puppies. With young dogs wear arm cuffs underneath so you can take bites. There is a hidden protective sleeve in nylcot (in which you can move about normally) for hard biting young dogs and the jacket still looks like clothing, unlike a hidden kevlar sleeve or similar. For hard biting dogs, sleeve cuffs, hidden protective sleeve and jacket are available. Because the clothing looks normal and colourful like ordinary clothing, realistic tests with service dogs can be carried out. From an early age the dogs can be allowed to bite on a jacket that is not being worn. The helper can then put the jacket on and allow the dog to bite it, i.e. bite the helper. The dog becomes accustomed to biting the helper instead of a large peculiar sleeve that the helper has with him. The transition to reality is trouble-free. Training for muzzle work can be carried out advantageously with dogs accustomed to biting bite clothing. The dog is activated and is ideally allowed to pursue the fleeing helper so that even the first hit is hard. This is easier with bite clothing, partly because it is soft and partly because the dog is not intent on biting on the same place each time. |
The great advantage of bite clothing is the opportunity for combinations during training. The nylcot protective clothing is extremely light to bite into, and bite-friendly to encourage the dog to bite. The colours are like ordinary clothing. The bite clothing is in the same material with the same construction. The helper can start to work in bite clothing at an early stage. He can start in thick or medium-thick bite clothing. Note: A hard biting dog will go through either type, but if arm cuffs are worn underneath it will not be felt. It is most sensible to try it out in a thick suit and change to a thinner one when you have more experience. In thin bite clothing the training is completely realistic. It is not apparent that the helper has protection underneath. The opportunities for combinations of suit, arm cuffs and nylcot sleeves - all brightly coloured - give a service dog that bites without hesitation and without waiting for stimuli such as protective sleeves. A training session can be carried out sometimes just in the jacket, etc. You are limited only by your imagination. The quality of this clothing is higher than in other makes. Among other things, the fabric is specially woven to allow the teeth to penetrate and for the holes then to self-heal. It is the market's most bite-friendly fabric. |

Groin protectors |
Manufactured by Schweikert and Frabo, Germany. A padded leather groin protector that fits inside most protective trousers. Also available with waist strap so it can be worn under ordinary clothing. Protects the genitals from bites. Apart from injuries, a bite here causes excruciating pain that makes you bend forward. This can cause more bites, perhaps to the face if you are unlucky, so the helper should always wear a groin protector. |

Impact vests for muzzle training |
There are four types of vest. The thick half-vest protects only at the front, and is intended for training guard dogs who work only on a lead. Then there is a thin impact vest. This is very flexible and gives reasonable protection. It can be worn under a thin bite jacket for completely realistic tests with dogs that are going into service. The medium protective vest gives good protection but has no protection at the shoulders. The thick impact vest gives very good protection. The helper can feel totally confident, but it is big and bulky and difficult to wear under ordinary clothing. Larger sizes are required. It does not hurt at all in this vest. A good vest to begin helpers in. The helper can be completely unafraid of injury. |

Steel muzzles |
Strong, substantial muzzles in 3 mm steel wire. The market's strongest steel muzzle because all crossing wires are welded together. The steel muzzle is much more comfortable for the dog to breathe in. This is because the muzzle lets in much more air than a leather one. Very useful for searching for people with police and service dogs. This muzzle is the best choice in searches for ill or shocked people, whose reactions can make the dog attack instead. Available in three sizes and designed for our most usual service dog, the GSD. |

Training and trials muzzle |
Hand-made Swedish training and trials muzzle. Much used by the police for training and trials. Designed and developed by an experienced police dog handler, who is Swedish champion among other things. Muzzle work is used to see if the dog will bite people wearing ordinary clothes. The dog must first be allowed to become accustomed to wearing the muzzle. In protection work the dog is well agitated into action and is allowed to lunge at a fleeing helper. The objective is that the first hit should be hard. If the dog has bitten a bite jacket before, then this is ideal at the beginning of muzzle work so that the dog can "hit" anywhere. |

Dog Security Muzzle |
Classic Swedish muzzle training is carried out during aggression training. The dog tries to bite the muzzle. The theory is that the dog should not have a biting bar to bite on, because he then gets an outlet for his aggressive instincts by transferring it to a substitute. Instead he must remain aggressive. If the lunge hurts a little, many dogs become even more angry and their aggression increases. Before training, the dog is allowed to become gradually accustomed to going about with the muzzle on (muzzle accustomisation). |
This can often be difficult because most dogs do not accept a muzzle round the snout. Accustomisation must be complete before protection training begins. Muzzle work is used to ensure that the dog bites even if the helper does not have a protective sleeve for stimulation. Muzzle work is very difficult, so the muzzle is important. The muzzle must be high enough for the dog to be able to bark in it, i.e. so the mouth can be opened wide when barking without being prevented by the muzzle. The dog must not be able to get the muzzle off and bite the helper. When the dog hits the helper, the muzzle must not be unnecessarily painful. The muzzle must be tried and, if necessary, cut away so that when the dog lunges the muzzle does not bang the dog in the eyes, above the nose or in the throat. A basic muzzle such as the police muzzle very rarely bangs the dog, and therefore suits most dogs. The fit is more important with a deep muzzle. Sharp edges must be smoothed off. Usually no soft padding material is needed in a muzzle because a little pain only makes the dog more aggressive. But to solve a problem the hit might need to be softened. The dog might have learnt to turn the muzzle away because it hurts when making a straight lunge. The muzzle might also need to be padded during training. The muzzle can be adapted to individual dogs and must always be tested. The dog must be able to bark and run as well as lunge in it. There are many ways of training muzzle work, and prey drive (hunting/fighting instinct) training can also be done with or with a biting bar in the muzzle. Training can be carried out with an open muzzle, when the dog is allowed to bite the helper on the sleeve or bite clothing. Training can be carried out with line and expander. To achieve the best results all training methods need a muzzle that fits the dog. |

Muzzle (not for protection work) |
Not for protection work, but to protect the dog from biting, e.g. if it has injured itself and a dressing must be applied. This muzzle should be kept in every car in case the dog steps on a broken bottle or injures itself out in the country. The price is so low that anyone can afford a muzzle, and it is an ideal candidate for the first-aid kit, together with paw dressings. Good when clipping aggressive dogs' claws. |
